The band is run on
an extremely professional basis and any new applicants must be competent to
performance level on their respective instrument(s). Primarily the band was set
up to accommodate ex Royal Marine Musicians, although we have a small selection
of players who have joined that are not from the Royal Marines family......and
a great asset they are.
We are currently almost at
full compliment and only need two trumpets/cornets for absence cover and two
horns to make up the section.
Membership is by written
application to the Director Of Music, Captain Ted Whealing (email is fine) and
must be supported by two referees from within the band. We are a sociable bunch
and anyone joining is expected to become part of the ethos of the RMACB and
treat others with courtesy and respect, otherwise they can expect to be asked
to leave. That all said, we enjoy our Thursday nights and the gigs that we have
worked hard to perform.
